Each member of our team takes pride in serving as a long-term partner in helping our customers maximize their energy potential.

Artisan has grown to a staff of 31, including 16 union members from the IBEW Local 46. We invest in and support our team to ensure that quality, innovation, efficiency and safety shine through everything we do.
Jason has over 20 years of experience as a residential and commercial electrician. After completing a five-year IBEW commercial electrical apprenticeship, he received his electrical administrator’s license and opened Artisan Electric in 2007. Jason has an in-depth background in new construction, service, and energy management for commercial, residential, and industrial applications. Before starting his own business, he was most recently a commercial journeyman for Veca Electric in Seattle. Jason lives on an organic farm on Vashon Island with his wife and two boys.
Evan oversees all of Artisan’s solar projects, manages the solar sales and design team, and coordinates marketing and community outreach. Evan joined Artisan in 2010 to help expand our solar services. Prior to joining Artisan, Evan spent five years living and working in Kumamoto, Japan, as an environmental educator. He also worked for nearly a decade as a professional organizer for environmental causes. Evan holds a dual B.A. degree from Wesleyan University, and an M.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Texas. An experienced and dynamic speaker with an intelligent and engaging style, he has become an influential local leader in raising public awareness about solar energy, energy efficiency, and global climate change. He lives on Vashon Island with his wife and daughter.
SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
Originally a Northeast native, Anthony is now firmly rooted in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his wife. A self-taught design engineer and journeyman sheet-metal worker, Anthony entered the energy sector through the Shoreline Community College Clean Energy Technology program and joined Artisan in 2012. He is a key team leader for Artisan, though his main focus is now commercial design. Anthony has a deep respect for the beauty and answers found in nature, and a lifelong love of science and technology. When not working hard on his next commercial project, Anthony can be found working on his home, creating music and art, volunteering, or enjoying the great outdoors.
SENIOR SOLAR DESIGN CONSULTANT
Daniel is Artisan’s Residential Solar Design Manager. He has been with the team since February 2013. Since 2011 he has dedicated his professional life to quality solar design. Dan is a graduate of Shoreline Community College’s Clean Energy Technology program and is NABCEP-certified. He enjoys trade shows and other events where he educates people about the benefits and fundamentals of residential solar energy. When he’s not working with Artisan’s sales team and their customers, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, disk golf, and his family.
RESIDENTIAL PROJECT MANAGER
Andrew is originally from Chicago, but has lived in Washington for seven years due to his love for the outdoors. Andrew graduated from The Evergreen State College in Sustainable Design, where he focused on net zero building and alternative energy. Andrew gained his project management experience working with Americorps NCCC and Habitat for Humanity before joining Artisan in 2012. He lives in Columbia City, just over the hill from the Artisan Georgetown location, though most of his time away from Artisan is spent amongst the mountains and trees of the Puget Sound.
COMMERCIAL PROJECT MANAGER
Dave is a lifelong West Seattle resident who still enjoys all the west side has to offer, including golfing and hiking the many woods and trails adjacent to his current home. A commercial journeyman electrician and certified solar installer, Dave’s passion for renewable energy and energy conservation led him into home energy auditing; he’s earned Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification and Energy Star (HERS) rating and has performed over 1000 home energy audits. His project management and team leadership skills were further developed during his five years as lead auditor and consultant for Sustainable Works, where he managed multiple teams of auditors and consultants. Dave is grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the earth through his work.
SOLAR AND EFFICIENCY CONSULTANT
Gordon is a lover of the environment and a Washington State native. He has a degree from Washington State University in Environmental Science and Regional Planning and is a graduate from the Zero Energy Technology Program at Shoreline College. Gordon has a well-rounded background in energy and efficiency, thanks to his past experience as a Building Performance Institute (BPI)-certified energy auditor and North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)-certified solar salesperson. Gordon lives in Shoreline with his wife and three children.
RESIDENTIAL JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN
Cory was born and raised in Burien, Washington. After 15 years of working in the car radio and home theater industry, he became a residential journeyman electrician in 2013. When not saving the world through solar power, he can be found in the great outdoors camping, hiking, and fishing with his wife, two children, and two dogs.

Frank is a Washington native, born and raised near Bremerton. He joined Artisan in 2013 as an electrical apprentice and will soon complete his test to become a residential journeyman electrician. Frank feels honored to be part of the solar industry and to be powering a solar revolution. When not working at Artisan, Frank loves the outdoors and nature, and enjoys spending time with family, especially his young nephew.

Nigel started with Artisan as a stockman and is now a rooftop solar installer. Nigel has experience in various trades and is enjoys learning new skills in his work as an electrician and solar professional. A Vashon resident, he is a husband and father of four boys. When not playing dad, he’s rocking out the drums with a variety of bands on the island.

John Basil Guillory was born in Seattle and shortly afterwards his family moved to Federal way where he attended school. John was very much into school sports and now he is now a HUGE Seahawks fan. John was sold on the idea of becoming a solar electrician at the age of 17 and now is enrolled in the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Union, Local 46 Apprenticeship Program. On John’s days off you can find studying for his apprenticeship, at the gym with friends or rooting on his football team. Go Hawks!
MARKETING AND OUTREACH
Stu Frothingham manages our Marketing and Outreach activities. Like several of our other staff members, Stu entered the renewable energy field after obtaining his A.A.A.S. Clean Energy Technology degree and a Certificate in Sustainable Business Leadership at Shoreline Community College. Stu also has a B.A. in Broadcast Communications from Western Washington University. He was a contributing researcher and writer for Washington Sunrise 2030, a publication showing how Washington State can achieve a truly renewable energy economy by 2030. Stu designed and installed his own 4.0Kw solar photovoltaic system and drives an all-electric Nissan LEAF. Stu is involved with sustainability-focused organizations and volunteers on Loyal Heights Community Center’s Advisory Council. He also coaches youth basketball. Oh, yes, he’s also a Seahawks and UW Huskies fan who wants his Sonics back!
Scott Hollis is a Solar Consultant at Artisan Electric. He is responsible for managing websites and social media, developing written and visual marketing content, preparing outreach for events and pursuing sales leads for solar electric systems. For more than 15 years, Scott has worked in marketing and communications advocating social equity and environmental sustainability. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Evergreen State College. In In his spare time, Scott enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, photography and freelance publishing. He lives on Vashon Island with his fiancee and two dogs.
MARKETING, OUTREACH, AND SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Nikkaila Bain is a Marketing, Outreach, and Social Media Specialist at Artisan Electric. She is responsible for strategizing new marketing campaigns, managing social media accounts, coordinating workshops and events, and assisting the team where needed. In high school she created a coffee ground-based biofuel and realized two things: 1) she needed to be part of the renewable energy revolution and 2) she needed to do it in a place where the coffee was plentiful (aka Seattle). After graduating from the University of Idaho (Go Vandals) with a B.S. in Advertising and a long-standing passion for sustainability, Nikkaila found her home in solar at Artisan Electric. Nikkaila spends her spare time exploring the Pacific Northwest, running, taking pictures of everything, and wishing she had a dog to take on all of her adventures.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND SOLAR DESIGN
Alisha Turpin manages the technical support side of Artisan Electric, providing Solar and IT support for our customers. She grew up in California where she developed a love of the outdoors and our natural environment. It is this love that motivated her to enter the Solar Industry and promote the environmental benefits of Solar. Alisha has lived in the Pacific Northwest for nearly two decades and is proud to live in a state that values renewable energy resources. She entered the energy sector through the Clean Energy Technology program at Shoreline Community College. She is also a certified NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate.
