Sales & Installation Process

Carefully guiding you through every step, we make it easy from start to finish with our full-service, turnkey approach.

Step 1: Pre-Installation Planning
Your dedicated Artisan Electric project manager hosts a detailed planning meeting to confirm scope, schedule, equipment, and any electrical upgrades needed. This is where your design, utility requirements, and build plan are fully aligned to ensure your project runs smoothly.

Step 2: Permitting & Utility Interconnection
Artisan prepares and submits all electrical permits, structural plans, and utility interconnection applications for both grid-tied and battery backup systems. Our in-house, union-certified electrical team coordinates directly with local jurisdictions and utilities in Western Washington, reducing delays and ensuring your system is approved the first time.

Step 3: Project Scheduling & Logistics
Once approvals are in motion, we lock in your installation dates and handle all on-site logistics—including material delivery and any planned utility disconnects. Your dedicated scheduler keeps you informed of key milestones, so you know exactly what to expect and when crew members will be on site.

Step 4: System Installation & Start Up
Our skilled installation team gets to work, culminating in a thorough system startup and commissioning process.

Step 5: Utility Permission to Energize & Support
After the system passes the electrical inspection and receives permission to operate from the utility, you’ll be able to energize your system and reap the benefits of your new solar or battery system.

Solar Incentives & Financing

$2,000 IBEW 46 Rebate
For customers living in King, Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam counties, they receive a $2,000 rebate. This exclusive incentive is only available for qualifying union-installed projects. Be sure to ask about additional EV rebates as well.

Low Interest Financing
Through trusted local partners like Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU), Artisan offers affordable, accessible financing that allows you to pay over time.

The Energy-Smart Loan program provides customers with 100% financing, offsets your loan payment with solar production, and offers no-charge refinancing after you apply incentives. This program not only helps you reduce your carbon footprint and utility bills but also supports the local community, having already empowered over 7,100 homeowners to become solar citizens and generated significant renewable energy while sequestering substantial carbon.

Will solar panels work during a power outage?

Standard solar systems shut off during outages for safety. To keep your lights on, you need a battery backup system. We can bundle these into your installation.

How much will I actually save on my monthly bill?

Most homeowners see a 70–100% reduction in their electric bill. The exact amount depends on your roof’s sun exposure and your current energy usage. While there is an upfront installation cost, panels typically pay for themselves within 6–12 years.

“After getting 3 quotes to have solar panels installed, I went with Artisan. Jeff Bennett did such a thorough job of walking me through all the details, process and calculations to meet our energy needs. We replaced the roof first, and they connected with the roofing company directly to insure the proper decking was installed on the areas where the panels were being installed.”

“We had solar panels installed on our roof in July, and I have nothing but praise for Artisan Electric & Solar. First, Tom came out with a drone that he flew over our house to take photos so the placement of the panels could be designed.”

“The Artisan Electric Team was outstanding from initial consult to final installation. They completed the project ahead of schedule and left the worksite as they found it! They even brought their own Porta-potty. Our Electric bill is now next to nothing! The system worked flawlessly during two power outages!”
