Looking to use solar energy to power your home? One of our recent projects involved installing a massive 55.2 kW solar PV system on a home in Bainbridge Island, WA, just one picturesque ferry ride away from Seattle. Our customer was looking to reduce their power bills and they were able to offset 100% of their total power usage with this solar PV system. In this blog post, we’ll give you an overview of the project, the solar panels that were used, and the impressive results that our customers achieved.
This PV system boasts an impressive 55.2 kW of power, which is divided among 138 Q-Cells panels. Q-Cells is a well-known and respected brand in the solar industry, with a proven track record of producing high-quality panels with high efficiency, durability, and resistance to weather conditions. The panels used in this installation are high-efficiency 400W panels. This means that the Bainbridge Island system is capable of generating more power than traditional solar systems with fewer panels.
Three SolarEdge 11400 Energy Hubs and one SolarEdge 7600 Inverter were installed as part of the system. These energy hubs work together to manage and distribute the energy generated by the panels.
To mount the solar panels, we used IronRidge Open Channel racking, which was an excellent choice for this project. The open-channel design provides more flexibility when installing and allows for optimal airflow between the panels. In addition, the racking system’s durable construction ensures that the panels remain safe and secure in all weather conditions.
With this 55.2 kW solar PV system, our customer was able to offset 100% of their household power usage. They succeeded in their goal of significantly reducing their energy bills and reducing their carbon footprint. When excess energy is generated, it is credited back to the grid for later use.
Installing a solar PV system is an ideal solution for homeowners who want to reduce their energy bills, embrace renewable energy sources, and protect themselves from power outages with battery backup systems. This recent project in Bainbridge Island, WA, was an excellent example of how solar energy can transform a home’s power source. By choosing Q-Cells 400W panels, IronRidge Open Channel racking, and SolarEdge Energy Hub systems, our customer achieved their goals with an efficient and reliable solar PV system.
