WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS
April 23rd, 2017 – Earth Day on Vashon
Our Earth Day Celebration is a chance for the community of Vashon to celebrate, learn, and become inspired to take action on behalf of our planet. We want to connect these visitors to what you are doing.
This celebration will take place at Vashon High School, using the two stunning open spaces at the heart of the school for exhibitors, musicians, and artists. We will also have workshops and presentations in adjacent classrooms, food vendors nearby, and electric vehicles on display in the parking lot.
To the right side in the panorama below is the Great Hall, the space for exhibitors. To the left is the lunchroom, the space for music, youth activities and some dining space. Beyond the lunchroom are classrooms for speakers.

FREE TACOMA SOLAR WORKSHOP WITH DONATED SOLAR PV SYSTEM
Do you have friends, family or coworkers who are solar curious? Artisan Electric is excited to announce a FREE “Solar In Tacoma™” workshop series. If you know someone considering solar in the Tacoma area, this is an excellent place for them to get started and now is the time. All of our Solar In Tacoma™ workshops are at the Tacoma Nature Center and are FREE!
We’ll even have some FREE craft beer and locally-made pizza for you to enjoy while we talk about solar.
The first workshop is just a few weeks away and you can register at solarintacoma.eventrbrite.com. Space is limited so be sure to sign-up soon for the date and time that fits your schedule best.
We’ll have some FREE pizza and craft beer to go along with our FREE information about solar photovoltaics. Child care is not available so please be mindful about sound levels so everyone can hear the presentation easily.
Thursday, March 30th – 6 to 7:30 PM
In these free workshops we’ll discuss:
- The environmental and economic benefits of going solar.
- The technology – how it works, connects to your home and the electrical grid.
- State and Federal incentives for solar.
- What homes are best for solar.
- Financial considerations and ROI estimates.
Donated Solar PV System!
All workshop participants who go solar will count toward a donated solar PV system for the Tacoma community. For every 10 PV systems installed from these workshops, Artisan Electric will install 1kW of solar to a nonprofit of the customers’ choice. The more systems sold, the greater the size of the donated system.
Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union, (PSCCU) will be present to discuss low-interest Energy-Smart loans that have helped more than 2,000 Washingtonians install solar PV systems. PSCCU has also generously donated the food and drinks for these events.
Solar and Clean Energy.
SPREADING THE WORD.
Solar isn’t just a business for Artisan. We see our work as an opportunity to educate, connect and inspire. We’re on a mission to show families, businesses and communities throughout the Puget Sound just how beautifully solar energy can fit their budgets, goals, and lifestyles.
Many people don’t know that Washington is an ideal place to go solar, both in terms of our climate and our state’s generous incentive program. Through outreach, Artisan works to break down the two biggest barriers to solar energy in Washington State: education and cost.
WE’LL BRING THE POWER TO YOU.
Although we’re already active in local education, we strive to reach further into Puget Sound communities each year. In addition to our participation in the Northwest solar movement through various partner campaigns, we also conduct our own events. And if it’s not convenient for you to attend an existing event, we can bring a presentation to you!
Artisan Vice President Evan Leonard is available to speak at many types of events about solar, climate, the environment, and our energy future. Evan has conducted close to one hundred workshops for home and small business owners. Known as an entertaining and engaging speaker, he excels in relaying the complexities of solar into comprehensible and fun presentations.
A custom presentation we call “Solar Power Lunch Hour” has proven popular with companies who want to learn more about solar. If your place of work, business, organizations or community might be interested in such a presentation—either for company leadership or all employees/members—let us know. We’d love to meet you.
