ENERGY EFFICIENCY OVERVIEW

Know Your Power.

EFFICIENCY SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

At Artisan, we believe that renewable energy is just one piece of your energy puzzle. We provide our customers with resources to reduce their energy consumption, making their solar investment go even further. We believe that with adequate knowledge, every home, business, and community has the power to shape its energy future. And we believe it should be easy.

Any home or business can start saving energy today by implementing simple conservation strategies. We educate customers on behavioral patterns that conserve energy, like turning off lights when leaving a room, or turning the thermostat down a few degrees.

But to help our customers take their energy conservation a step further, we also offer a wide range of efficiency services. Unlike conservation, efficiency involves making physical changes to energy systems so that they use less power—while providing equal or better service.

Through energy audits, efficient lighting solutions, heating and cooling with electric heat pumps, car charging stations, and state-of-the-art energy monitoring technology, Artisan helps you maximize your building’s energy potential.

Small changes to your energy use can dramatically increase your comfort and reduce your energy bill. Artisan helps you make these changes seamlessly—with the superior skill and service that have made us a leader in our field.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY SERVICES

Energy Audits. Get a home and building energy audit with our BPI-certified auditors utilizing rebates from your utility company. We inspect your heating system, lighting, appliances, and the tightness of your building envelope. We provide you with a prioritized action plan for making your building more energy-efficient. Our goal is to save you energy and money, making your solar investment go even further.

Heat Pumps. Believe it or not, the most efficient way to heat your home and business is with electricity. We install heat pumps, which use the latent energy of the air to either bring heat into or out of your home. A heat pump can both heat and cool your living space, and can either replace or supplement your ducted heating system.

EV Car Charging Stations. Did you know you can run your car on solar power? A 3kW solar PV system matched with a car charging station is all you need to power your vehicle year-round in the Pacific Northwest, even if you’re a heavy commuter. We install EV car charging stations and update your electrical system to handle all types of electric vehicles.

Lighting retrofit. One easy option for improving your building’s energy efficiency is to undergo a simple lighting retrofit. Artisan removes and recycles inefficient CFL, halogen and sodium-gas lighting fixtures and ballasts, replacing them with new, energy-efficient CFL fixtures. A lighting retrofit is an inexpensive way to cut operational costs, improve worker productivity, and save energy costs. Most utilities give large rebates for lighting retrofits and sensor installations. Click here to see Lutron’s list of utility rebates in Washington.

eGauge. The best way to manage your energy is to monitor it. Artisan Electric installs eGauge, an industry-leading whole-house energy monitoring system that lets you see where you are using power throughout your home. eGauge monitors the whole house and isolates circuits individually, so that you can see how individual appliances are performing.

Nest. Artisan is also a certified Nest Thermostat installer. Most people leave the house at one temperature and forget to change it. The Nest Thermostat learns your schedule and programs itself. The Nest Thermostat can lower your heating and cooling bills up to 20 percent without sacrificing comfort. Artisan will wire the thermostat for you and assist you with all programming and setup.

Residential lighting. Lighting accounts for almost 20 percent of the average homeowner’s monthly electric bill. Light control reduces your carbon footprint while adding aesthetic value to your home or business. Dimmers and light control systems allow you to use just the right amount of light, reducing electricity usage and extending bulb life.

Commercial lighting. In most office buildings, lighting accounts for 39% of annual electricity use. Artisan Electric provides a wide range of commercial lighting solutions, from single dimmers and sensors to whole building lighting controls.
